The great number of 233 Italian beaches are up to world standards, a factor which together with landscapes, food and Italian way of living are guaranty of unforgettable stay.
From North to South wonderful places are awaiting for you. Let us describe shortly at least a few wonderful regions with most amazing seaside cities.
The Veneto region for most people means simply Venice. But it is far more than canals and gondolas city. It is one of most glamorous Italian regions, which apart from Venice has a lot to offer to visitors. There are so many attractive towns, cities and landscapes which are less known, but as much enjoyable and enchanting. Cities such as Verona famed by Shakespearian “Romeo and Julia” or Treviso with its own canals are as much lovely as any other famous place. And there are so many things to do! The Dolomites mountains are paradise for summer activities such as mountaineering, walking or cycling.
For water fun lovers Garda Lake is a place which you can criss–cross on the boat or water ski, whereas for more lazy and sunny waterside holidays best are locations by the Adriatic sea. As it is this year on six Venetian beaches the blue flag are flowing: San Michele al Tagliamento-Bibione; Caorle; Eraclea mare; Jesolo; Cavallino-Treporti; Lido di Venezia (Venezia)
Another region well known for its sea and beaches is Apulia, a long slender region with wonderful Salento peninsula, washed over by two seas Ionian and Adriatic. With 800 km of coastlines Apulia is just the right place for sea lovers. The Adriatic side of coastline is still human untouched natural pearl, where scenery will take visitor’s breath away: high cliffs, marine grottos and hidden little beaches. The other, Ionian side of peninsula with sandy, clean beaches attracts many tourists. The Gargano in northern part of the region is oasis where greens of land and blues of the sky create unforgettable picture. Nearby lies the Archipelago of Trmiti, three islands which are backdrop for dreams. As for Blue Flag beaches, those are: Rodi Garganico (Foggia); Polignano a Mare (Bari); Fasano, Ostuni (Brindisi); Ginosa-Marina di Ginosa (Taranto); Otranto, Melendugno, Salve (Lecce).
Of course the coastlines list wouldn’t be completed without Campania, where pleasures and treasures are almost endless. Three wonderful coastlines: Sorrento, Amalfi and Cilento are places difficult to leave and easy to fall in love with. Naples with its culinary marvels and Old Town, where tight streets lead to incredible places. Ravello with its high on the rocks villas and air scented gardens. Paestum with Greek Temples and sandy beaches. Pompeii and Herculaneum with their buried history. And of course islands: the green Capri and never sleeping Ischia. Which blue flagged beaches to visit? Well, try those: Massa Lubrense (Napoli); Positano, Agropoli, Castellabate, Montecorice-Agnone e Capitello, Pollica-Acciaroli, Pioppi, Casal Velino, Ascea, Pisciotta, Centola-Palinuro, Vibonati-Villammare, Sapri (Salerno).
One of our loveliest location is situated just over the sea, near the beach. Old building, talking much about history . Overlooking the marine panoramas of Tyrrhenian sea, a perfect sea side wedding location Torre la Cerniola.
