For those brides who set their minds on a wedding in Italy, the idea of getting Italian favors is a perfect solution, for no matter in which region of Italy you decide to get married you will surely find something original and characteristic for local production. As I’m a real food lover I have some ideas on delicious and lovely wedding favors from region most popular among the destination brides.
The particular rose preserve, made of rose petals, raspberries honey and traditional biscuits bussolai. Venice and its region has many nice alternative for classic corkscrew or a silver plated figurine which will gather dust forgotten on a shelf. A mini jar sets of jam or honey for home made wafers, maybe a bag containing some of local sweets to go with afternoon tea or a mini bottle of Maraschino for cheerful toasts.
The beautiful, picturesque Umbria among many delicious local products is well known for wines. A little bottle of Montefalco or Triggiano will be great opportunity for guests to have a toast by fireplace long after your wedding. Vines might be accompanied by Mostaciolli, delicious spiced biscuit which are meant to be dipped in vine. For healthier favor, virgin olive oil that is so perfect for salad dressings or bread dips.
Again one of more elegant and classy edible favors from Tuscany is vine. The famous Chianti in a personalized bottles surely will be appreciated by your guests. For those who prefer more original favors the “fichi sotto olio”, fig fruit which on contrary to their name (figs in oil, which come for their aspect) are drowned in delicious lemon sugar syrup. Don’t like sweet? Well, the Aspretto di Mora, a bramble vinegar.
Lemons and their products so typical for Campania may be great idea for wedding favors. A tiny bottles of Limoncello or Crema di Limone which your guest will surely enjoy together with a jar of local particular sauce called salsa (might be one you served at your reception) or a few chocolates with famous liquor Strega (the Witch) will bring back memories of your sunny, Mediterranean wedding and reception.
Many flavour and favors Sicily offers to you. Made of almond paste Martorana’s fruits will be truly eye catching and surprising gift. Another one region famous for its vines so you cannot leave out a bottle of Nero d'Avola or Moscato, which with a jar of local preserves like Caponata, or Melanzane sotto olio (marinated eggplants) will be not only a great typical favor, but a delicious dinner Sicilian dinner.
