Please note that you should not apply for documents and certificates more than six months prior to wedding date or they will expire.
The religious Jewish in our community is 100% Orthodox.
There are various synagogues throughout Italy, and you should choose your one by introducing yourself to the local Rabbi, via a presentation letter, sent oither via email or fax.
You must then produce the following documents:
- Certificates from an orthodox Rabbi declaring that you are both Jewish and free to marry.
- If divorced, a legal and religious Dissolution of Marriage has to be provided.
- Ketubah of the bride's and the groom's parents' weddings.
- The bride-to-be may perform the mitzvah in Italy or in her own community, in which case she should produce a certificate attesting that the mitzvah was performed, dated not more than four days before the wedding ceremony.
The marriage is to take place, ten days following the menstrual cycle.
